Creating Impulse Response Files?

I note many of the plugins can load IRs.

Would it be possible to create a plugin that generated IRs? i.e. took the output a chain of effects, removed the input signal and allowed that to be saved as an IR?

(kind of like exporting a group of channels in a daw to audio to save processing all those signals).

I’m far from an expert at IRs but it would seem possible?

If I got it well you can do it with a recorder plugin (that is already available in beta) as long as you apply the techniques on how to produce IR.
As a disclaimer: I never created an IR myself, so I’m not sure if this is possible. But…wouldn’t it be?
