Powering the MOD with an external 12V battery?

Can the DUO be powered by an external 12V battery?

A fellow Chapman Stick player uses the Phil Jones Bass Double Four battery powered combo amp for busking and is wondering if he can use an external battery to power the DUO.

I know there are 9V battery packs available like the Joyo. https://www.amazon.com/JOYO-JMP-01-Portable-Power-Supply/dp/B00DR4FDY4

Anything like this that has 12V output and enough current?

@Skydiver

Sure!

just watch out with the polarity :slight_smile:

Does the MOD have a range of voltages it can accept?

Many devices say they take 12V but can work as low as few volts below and a few volts above. Is this the case with the MOD?

It can partially withstand voltage variations but as voltage drops you lose features :wink:

I have to say, since most of your income currently is from hardware if you could have a tested, MOD branded battery for this, it could be good for everybody. I imagine there will be a fair bit of interest. Just something to consider. :smile:

An external battery pack / powerbank should work, something like this:

A Stick player on stickist.com is using this battery to power his DUO. Purchased from Amazon.

Wow cool, by an amazing coincidence that’s the exact same power pack which arrived today as part of the delivery of my shiny new G-Ro carry-on suitcase! https://g-ro.com/collections/shop-all/products/g-ro-power?variant=20682722245
