Duo X Knob and Button Assignments - Defaults?

When creating a patch, do the knobs and buttons on the Duo X get assigned automatically to certain parameters, or must they all be assigned manually?

When you create a NEW pedalboard, there will be no assignments.
But you can change what the “new pedalboard” does, since it actually loads a “default” pedalboard.
