Info about gain staging

Hello there!
I am trying to figure out what is the best way to use the Mod Duo X with the octatrack. I noticed that using any of the user A B factory setting, whenever i do an hardware bypass the gain jump up very noticeably.

I tried with an empty pedalboard just connecting the ins to the outs and still happening. Is there any attenuation happening in the in stage? should i push the gain to match the bypassed level?

Is your master output turned all the way up? I usually turn it down a bit since pedalboards itself can sometimes be a bit ‘hot’ on the output.

Have you changed the output gain levels to match with the volume when in hardware bypass and save them on one (or multiple) user profiles?
